Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely seal a hydraulic chamber and a centrifugal hydraulic cham ber from each other without strictly controlling the dimension accuracy of a piston member by providing a second centrifugal hydraulic chamber communi cated with a first centrifugal hydraulic chamber between a cylindrical part and a balance member. SOLUTION: A sealing (sealing member) is arranged between a cylindrical wall part 70 and a balancing cap 80, and the leakage of working oil in a space part 82 to the outside is prevented by this sealing member. Then, the centrifugal oil pressure of the cylindrical wall part 70 in a diameter direction (rotation radial direction) is canceled. When a follower pulley 18 is rotated especially at a high speed, centrifugal oil pressures for expanding the cylindrical wall part 70 in the radial direction is applied to a hydraulic chamber 74 and a balance chamber 78. On the other hand, in the space part 82, a centrifugal oil pressure for pressing the cylindrical wall part 70 by working oil supplied from the centrifugal balance chamber is generated. Thus, both oil pressures roughly cancel each other and a force for bulging in an outer peripheral direction is canceled. COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
